Legal and regulatory support to the Government of the German-speaking Community of Belgium for the review and amendment of the 2005 'Mediendekret'

A recast of the Mediendekret  is necessary view of the transposition, as far as they cover competences of the Communities,  i) Directive (EU) 2018/1808 of  14 November 2018 on audio-visual media services, ii) Directive (EU) 2018/1972 of December 11, 2018 establishing the European Electronic Communications Code and iii) Directive (EU) 2019/882 of 17 April 2019 European Accessibility Act.  The support entailed not only identifying the current provisions that needed to be amended in view of the transposition, but also making drafting suggestions.  In addition, to the transposition of the EU Directives, the task encompassed also making proposals to streamline the current institutional setting of the Medienrat as well as of procedures for granting spectrum licences to in particular radio broadcasters.
